Meetings sometimes do not allow for much participation as a strict agenda is often adhered to. So, how can you participate? During the work day, be sure to make your rounds. Ask team members for project updates, present new or innovative ideas, and seek help with any problems you may be having. Soon enough, your input will be appreciated and sought after.


  1. Use Feedback. Let’s face it. No one enjoys criticism. But a good boss can provide feedback in a constructive manner that will allow you to implement changes to your workflow in the future. If you are not given feedback, ask for it. Some managers feel uncomfortable providing any negative feedback but, if they know you are fine with it, they will be much more likely to oblige. Be sure to follow through on the advice that was given to you. This shows the team that you are willing to learn and improve.
