Network Security Administrator


1.     Responsible
for hands-on assistance in the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of
Security and networking equipment and applications, including firewalls, hubs,
routers, switches and other security devices and/or software..

2.     Primary
responsibility includes providing hands-on technical support for all remote
access users, over various mediums. 

3.     Responsible
for creating secure firewall policies, and reviewing such policies,

4.     Responsible
for troubleshooting problems with Active Directory and Citrix Xenapp
environments that the remote access communities often connect to.

5.     Responsible
for Safend and other Data Loss Prevention systems protect the network from
unauthorized removable drive and device usage, and introduction of malware.

6.     Responsible
for Trustwave Network Access Control issue mitigation to guard against
rogue/foreign systems harming the networks.

7.     Responsible
for Remote Access systems and problem resolution related to said systems.

8.     Maintain
and manage firewalls policies & security systems that protect the network
from unauthorized internet access and usage.

9.     Participate
in the development of network standards and operational procedures.


11.  Responsible
for maximum ‘uptime’ of all production, development and corporate servers and

12.  Perform
other duties, as assigned, which fall within scope of responsibility of
securing all networks.

13.  Take
part in, and assist with all LAN Infrastructure activities, as needed.



Thorough understanding of server and computer hardware
and software

Thorough understanding of local and wide area
networks systems and technologies.

Thorough understanding of developments related
to enterprise security.

A solid understanding of routers, firewalls
and IPS/IDS devices .

Knowledge of Network Diagnostic (Wireshark,
Solarwinds, MRTG, TCPdump, WinDump)

Knowledge of Network Equipment (Cisco, HP)

Knowledge of Network Protocols (TCP, UDP &

Knowledge of Operating System Technology
(Windows Server 2003/2008, VMware, Linux)

Knowledge of Workstation Technology (Windows XP,
Windows 7 & 8)

Knowledge of Security Discovery (NMAP, Nessus)

Knowledge of Security Controls (Checkpoint R7x,
Checkpoint SPLAT, Trustwave Mirage, Safend)

Knowledge of VPN Technology (Checkpoint IPSEC,
Array Networks SSLVPN)

Knowledge of 

Office Applications (Microsoft Word, Excel,
Power Point, Visio)


Technical Skills:

Expert knowledge of applying security to
Internet hardware/software technologies.

Hands-on desktop and server support, networking fundamentals
and hardware.



Must be Hands-on technical support.

Ability to identify and diagnose problems
related to computer hardware and software,to find effective solutions.

Ability to communicate effectively both orally
and in writing.

Ability to establish and maintain effective
working relationships with other employees, vendors, contractors and the
general public.

Ability to analyze and solve problems locally
and remotely, via phone and Internet.  

Effective problem solving techniques and
analytical skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
simultaneously and perform effectively under pressing deadlines.

Experience Needed:

Minimum 3 years experience managing a network
and security products


Education Required:

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in computer
science or related field and three years experience in personal computers and
local and wide area network systems analysis.

MCSE, Network+, Security+ or equivalent
